BODYNAMIC FOUNDATION TRAINING:
THE CHARACTER STRUCTURE MODEL AND DEVELOPMENTAL TRAUMA
Bodynamic is a sophisticated and extensively researched, scientific approach that details how specific muscles are imprinted in childhood development, and how they affect our psychological skills in adult life.

The training is an experiential journey that combines verbal and somatic work, allowing the practitioner to connect more deeply to the body and its often underlooked presence in an individual’s development and psychological growth.
You can only change when you learn to love your defences.
- Lisbeth Marcher
FOUNDATION TRAINING PROGRAM
The Foundation training program is taught in 5 modules, each spanning 5 days, spread out over the course of 1 year. It is a powerful and nourishing program for anyone who wants to expand their somatic awareness and bring accuracy and effectiveness into their therapeutic practice.

The Foundation year is the basic training of the Bodynamic Somatic Developmental Psychology Education. It is the first part of a 4-year training, recognized by the European Association for Body Psychotherapy (EABP).
TRAINING TESTIMONIALS
Bodynamic Somatic Developmental Psychology is probably the most body-oriented and comprehensive developmental psychology and character structure model there is. Therefore, I highly recommend the Biodynamic foundation level training as a must to all those who are serious about being a body-oriented therapist.

UNDERSTANDING THE FOUNDATION OF BODYNAMIC
Development of Character Structures
Through a 25-year empirical study, Bodynamic has developed a unique differentiated model of character structures
This model describes the development of a child in 7 phases from the 2nd trimester in utero till the age of 13 (adolescence).
These Character Structures show the psychometric development of a child as a resource and defence, formed in relation to the type and timing of nurture and circumstances that children experience.
The training will delve into the nature of these Character Structures and how they shape the developing personality of the child.
Role of Developmental Trauma
Developmental trauma plays a significant role in the shaping who we are and our defence mechanisms(character structure)
Through the training, you will learn how each developmental stage is vulnerable to trauma, and how we evolve in response to survive.
This understanding is paramount to developing compassion for the individual and recognise that behaviours deemed as “problematic” are often symptoms that point to unmet central needs of a developmental phase.
Body Ego
Since infants and young children have limited ways of coping with traumatic experiences and are often unable to communicate their experiences through language, the body and its movements (Body Ego) are of crucial importance in coping with the intensity of their experience.
As they move through these phases, specific muscles activate in response to external developmental challenges.
Character types and positions
When there is any trauma experienced in these phases the muscle activation is interrupted or shut down. Therefore causing these muscles to be either tensed or lapsed muscles with a corresponding character structure, expression, mimics, gestures, belief systems, behaviours and more.
Through the training, you will learn to recognise and read these character structures and muscles, allowing you to integrate the respective resources optimally into the healing process.
You will also be trained in a variety of specific body exercises and techniques to engage more precisely, effectively, and efficiently with the traumatisation of your clients.

MEET YOUR INSTRUCTORS
Tuk Jacobsen, MA in Psychology
My name is Tuk Jacobsen, and I’m a Bodynamic therapist and teacher from Denmark. I offer individual therapy in person or online in English or Danish. My therapeutic style is grounded in a deep understanding of the human body, psyche, and spirituality to foster lasting and meaningful development.
Originally trained as a psychomotor therapist (BA), I specialize in integrating the body-mind connection into the therapeutic context. I apply techniques such as body awareness, physical sensation activities, movement, emotion regulation and body language/posture.
Since I began working professionally in 2015, I have received direct guidance on my professional development from my aunt, Lisbeth Marcher, who is herself educated as a psychomotor therapist before she founded the Bodynamic system. Additionally, I draw inspiration from mindfulness and meditation techniques, which are helpful in enhancing focus, self-awareness, and cultivating a kinder attitude towards oneself and others – all beneficial to therapeutic progress.
If you value working with a Bodynamic therapist experienced in body awareness, psychomotor development (character structures), and the integration of the somatic aspect in psychotherapy, feel free to reach out to me.
Inna GavryLiuk - Ukraine
Inna believes in the power of contact in the therapeutic process and pays a lot of attention to balancing safety, challenge, risk and education. She loves connecting cognitive understanding and awareness with emotions and the body experience. For her it is a chance to recreate the primal balance of human beingness, a way to be here in the now and stay connected to something greater than oneself.
In her practice she considers that development is a process which goes far beyond the walls of the therapy clinic and the time frames of the session. If it all comes together with a nice dose of humor and the company of a good friend – then anything can happen!
Inna is the coordinator of trainings in Ukraine, educational Therapist and Supervisor, can do Full Bodymaps and teaches in all levels of educations in Bodynamic.
Inna has a Masters in Linguistics and Psychology. She is also a member of the EABP. She has training in Gestalt Therapy, Process Oriented Work and Psychodrama. She’s been in clinical practice since year 2000.
